Agent Spotlight: Alliant Insurance Services

Alliant Insurance Services

When Stephen Fountain joined Alliant Insurance Services in 2022, he wasn’t just stepping into a new role—he was laying the groundwork for something bigger. Tasked with building out Alliant’s regional footprint in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama, Fountain set out to form a high-performing team and create lasting partnerships in a relatively untapped market for the national brokerage. In just two years, his team has grown to 45 employees and now generates more than $15 million in annual revenue for the Southern region.

Alliant ranks among the top five insurance brokers in the U.S., according to Business Insurance, with $5 billion in revenue and over 14,000 employees nationwide. Also recognized as the #1 privately held broker in the country—at 51% employee owned—Alliant’s unique structure has been a key factor in attracting top talent and driving rapid growth, Fountain explained.

“We’ve built a team of people with a shared vision and strong work ethic, and we have the backing and resources of a large company behind us,” he said. “Alliant also gives our team the autonomy to do what’s right for our clients. That’s huge. All of that allows us to really listen to clients, understand what they need, and build a program that supports their long-term goals.”

It’s that same client-first mentality that has shaped Alliant’s strong relationship with LUBA. “LUBA’s mindset is to look at the whole picture, not just a class code or a box to check. They listen. They’re flexible and willing to work with us to find the best solution for each individual business so that everybody wins,” said Marketing Manager Dawn Abadie.

Abadie, a nearly 20-year veteran of the commercial insurance industry, noted that LUBA’s adaptability and shared relational mindset have always made them an especially strong workers’ comp partner. “They adjust to how we work— there are fewer barriers to doing business with them,” she said. “I’ve worked with LUBA for many years, even before Alliant, and they continue to be a strong partner.”

That sentiment is echoed across the Alliant team. “LUBA brings a personal touch to workers’ comp,” said Rob Cowan, VP and Risk Advisor for Alliant. “They’re responsive and relationship-oriented—which is critical in this industry because things move so quickly.”

“LUBA helps us promote and maintain a positive relationship with our clients, which ultimately helps everyone succeed.”

Marketing Lead Will Daniels shared similar thoughts: “LUBA has been a standout carrier for me since early in my career. They get to know the client and understand the relationship we’ve built with them. That intentionality makes them a pleasure to work with.”

Fountain said his entire team’s feeling of real partnership with LUBA goes beyond day-to-day business as well. “LUBA is the only company I know of that includes service team members in their incentive trips—not just producers,” he added. “They do a lot to support and appreciate their agency partners.”

A Vision for the Future
With momentum behind them, Fountain and his team are focused on the opportunity for strong continued growth in the Gulf South region. “We are an entrepreneurial team. We want to keep building, and we’re looking for people who share our values and drive,” he said. “We all feel like this isn’t just a job—it’s an opportunity to build something that lasts.”
